Business Analyst / Data Analyst Full Time

Our client is seeking a technically minded Business Analyst / Data Analyst to join their team on a permanent, fully remote basis. This opportunity is suited to a logical and analytical professional who enjoys working across business requirements, systems, data, product development and emerging AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Analyse business processes, system behaviour, workflows and data flows.
• Query, investigate and validate data using SQL.
• Identify trends, anomalies, data-quality issues and root causes.
• Perform data mapping and validation across reports, integrations and workflows.
• Work closely with Developers, QA, Product and Operations teams.
• Analyse APIs, integrations, data structures and system interactions.
• Assist with feature design, backlog refinement and prioritisation.
• Identify opportunities for automation, AI, machine learning and predictive analytics.
• Prepare datasets and assist with model development, testing and evaluation.
• Produce functional, technical, process, data and integration documentation.

Requirements:
• Experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Data Analysis or a related technical role.
• Practical SQL experience.
• Understanding of relational databases, reporting, APIs and the software development lifecycle.
• Strong requirements-gathering and process-mapping skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Python, predictive analytics, AI/ML, REST APIs, JSON, dashboards or data visualisation experience would be advantageous.
• Intermediate candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of requirements, features or projects.
