Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Cape Town (On Site)
Salary: R90K – R120K p.m.
Job Type: Permanent

Our client is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with a strong background in retail Point of Sale (POS) solutions and enterprise Java development.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and enhance Java-based retail POS solutions.
• Design and implement new software solutions and extensions.
• Develop UI solutions using Java Swing, HTML5 and CSS.
• Integrate third-party systems and POS hardware.
• Develop reports using JasperReports and iText.
• Produce technical documentation and support project delivery.
• Collaborate with customers, subcontractors and international teams.

Requirements:
• 5+ years’ experience developing retail POS solutions.
• 5+ years’ enterprise Java development experience.
• Degree in IT, Information Science or a related field preferred.
• Strong Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and SQL skills.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Spring, JUnit, Webservices and CI tools such as Jenkins/Nexus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• SAP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
