Senior Java Developer Full Time

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Java Developer to join a highly skilled development team in Stellenbosch. This hybrid opportunity is suited to an experienced software professional who enjoys designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications while collaborating with a technically driven team. Candidates with extensive Java and SQL expertise and a passion for delivering quality solutions are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain robust Java-based applications.
• Build high-quality, scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Work extensively with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
• Contribute to system improvements and continuous optimisation.
• Ensure software quality through testing and technical excellence.

Minimum Requirements
• 10+ years of overall experience in Information Technology.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 10+ years of experience working with SQL databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong SQL and Java skills are essential.
• Experience with Java SE 8, 21 and 25.
• Exposure to Java EE 8, EJB, JMS, JDBC and JNDI.
• Experience with Git, Apache Kafka, Docker and Ubuntu.
• Knowledge of Glassfish and JBoss Undertow will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
