Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (PrEng) Full Time

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (PrEng) to join its growing engineering team in Centurion. This is an exceptional opportunity for a technically accomplished engineering professional to lead the Civil and Structural discipline on major mining and minerals processing projects while mentoring engineers, driving engineering excellence, and delivering innovative infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the Civil and Structural engineering team, including resource planning, performance management, and technical development.
• Take ownership of civil and structural engineering deliverables across multiple mining infrastructure projects.
• Design, review, and approve reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, and heavy industrial infrastructure.
• Act as Engineer of Record by reviewing and signing off engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure seamless project execution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through technical presentations and project engagement.
• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections, contractor liaison, quality assurance, and technical query resolution.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, tender submissions, and engineering standards development.
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers while promoting engineering best practice.

Minimum Requirements
• BEng or BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A Master’s degree and exposure to international design standards will be advantageous.
• Professional registration as PrEng with ECSA.
• Minimum of 8 years’ post-graduate experience in civil and structural engineering within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven consulting or EPCM experience across feasibility, design, and construction phases.
• Strong expertise in reinforced concrete, structural steelwork, and foundation engineering.
• Proficiency in structural design software such as Robot Structural Analysis, Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, or similar.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of SANS codes and applicable engineering standards.
