Resident Engineer Full Time

Our client, a well-established consulting engineering firm, is seeking an experience Resident Engineer to take the lead on a major pipeline infrastructure project in Limpopo. This position is suited to an experienced engineering professional who thrives in a site-based environment and has a proven track record of managing construction activities, contract administration, and multidisciplinary teams.
As the Resident Engineer, you will oversee construction operations, ensure contractual compliance, maintain quality standards, and act as the primary engineering representative on site throughout the project lifecycle.

What you’ll be responsible for:
• Providing leadership and technical direction to the site supervision team.
• Managing contract administration in accordance with project requirements.
• Monitoring construction progress, expenditure, and programme performance.
• Ensuring quality assurance processes are implemented and maintained on site.
• Conducting inspections, reviewing completed work, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Certifying completed work and assisting with financial reporting and cash flow projections.
• Facilitating technical meetings between the client, contractor, and project team.
• Administering site instructions, variations, and project documentation.
• Supporting the assessment of contractor claims, extensions of time, and contractual matters.
• Preparing project reports and ensuring accurate as-built records are maintained.

To be considered, you should have:
• Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Around 15 years or more of relevant civil construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience supervising the construction of large-diameter welded steel pipeline projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contract administration and quality management.
• A sound understanding of applicable engineering standards and construction best practice.
• SACPCMP registration would be advantageous.
