Senior Java Developer Full Time

Take the next step in your software development career with our client as a Senior Java Developer based in Cape Town. This position is suited to an experienced developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, delivering scalable enterprise solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.

Key Duties
• Manage the technical integration of new clients into core systems.
• Develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Enhance existing functionality and build new software features.
• Resolve complex third-line support issues.
• Ensure systems remain secure and compliant with audit requirements.
• Contribute to improved development methodologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with technical teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Required Experience & Skills
• Tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong Java Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition development skills.
• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Solid SQL knowledge, including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven, Eclipse, or NetBeans.
• Experience working within continuous integration and testing environments.
• Understanding of OpenAPI protocols.

Desirable Experience
• Financial transaction processing systems.
• High-volume, multi-threaded application development.
• Postilion development experience.
• Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Angular front-end development.
